Warmth & temperature
How warm is it, exactly?
Eiderdown traps still air rather than adding bulk, so it reaches a given warmth at roughly a third the weight of goose down. Match the weight to your bedroom temperature at night, not to the season outside.
If you sleep hot, or share a bed with someone who does, step down one weight.

Gathered by hand, filled by hand, stitched by hand
Down is collected from wild nests only after the ducklings leave, then washed in spring water and blown into 24–60 baffle boxes so it can never shift or clump. One artisan finishes one comforter.

A shell as considered as the fill
The down sits inside a 300-thread-count organic cotton sateen, woven tightly enough to hold every fiber in place while still breathing. Seams are double-stitched and corner tabs are reinforced by hand, so nothing works loose over twenty years of use.
The rarest down on earth
Eiderdown is not plucked, farmed or harvested from any living bird. It is the breast down a female eider duck pulls from herself to line her nest, and it is gathered by hand only after she and her ducklings have left for the sea. Its barbs interlock in a way no other down does, which is why a single layer traps so much air for so little weight, and why Iceland produces only about three tonnes of it in a year.
