What is eiderdown

The rarest down on earth

Eiderdown is not plucked, farmed or harvested from any living bird. It is the breast down a female eider duck pulls from herself to line her nest, and it is gathered by hand only after she and her ducklings have left for the sea. Its barbs interlock in a way no other down does, which is why a single layer traps so much air for so little weight — and why Iceland produces only about three tonnes of it in a year.

I honestly can’t believe the quality of this comforter. I kept thinking it might be too good to be true, but I hoped for the best, and Eiderdown completely exceeded my expectations. Inside, there was a small note about this being a family-run business, and that made the experience feel even more special. Supporting a brand like this truly feels like a win for everyone. I’ve slept with down comforters since childhood, but owning a truly beautiful one always felt out of reach. Only my aunt had those luxurious comforters, and staying at her house was always such a treat. It’s truly, truly lovely. The comforter fluffed up beautifully. I’d only had it out for about 30 minutes and already couldn’t wait to crawl into bed. Sadly, I still had a few hours to go. I bought a different comforter last year, but I was looking for something warmer this time, and this delivered exactly what I was hoping for. As a single mom of two, I have to be thoughtful about every purchase. I researched comforters for months before choosing Eiderdown. I almost went with another option, but one review mentioned this comforter, and that sent me down the rabbit hole. I purchased one several months ago, but other members of my family were cold at night in my home when I’m hot, so I just went to buy another one. Really happy with this comforter. It looks beautiful, price is right, it’s very warm for California. It’s soft. I really love it. Dogs on it all night, still looks brand new. I’ve washed it many times (though dry clean preferred for these comforters), probably more than most would, but since I have animals jumping on it, it’s washed at least once a week. Why do you think I bought more? Well, it’s great!

Fantastic, I love this comforter so much! It’s super cushy and a great price for the comfort and quality. It’s kept me cool and helped me to sleep much better than usual. I bought this as a gift for my wife. She absolutely loved it. It comes in a bag inside a box. Once you spread it out and fluff it, almost like magic it becomes thick and soft. This is by far the most comfortable comforter we've ever slept with. The quality and materials are exceptional. Once you go with this product, you'll never go back to what you had before. I very highly recommend it. I cut down 3 stars because of the shipping, delivery got delayed be 5 days. Company should work with better shipping companies.

I was very surprised when I received this. I purchased the king size, warm weight. The quality and workmanship are unmatched. If you have any muscle/joint pain or are looking to upgrade your bed with weightless warmth, this is for you. These comforters come in other weights, light, medium and my warm one. I was hesitant about the price but these are made with the best, full eiderdown with beautiful fabric on the cover. I highly recommend these, you will be thrilled with the comfort!

I've been using this eiderdown comforter for over a week with just a sheet and a duvet cover. It's extremely lightweight and easy to fluff up, and so far has been perfect for my sleeping temperature in cooler weather. I even don't want to add a thin blanket under the duvet when it gets cold this winter because of it warmth. The quality seems very impressive for a comforter and is definitely good for people like me. Paired with smooth new sheets, my bed feels luxurious!
