Everything we publish about eiderdown — how it is gathered, cleaned, graded and certified — is checked before it goes out. This page sets out how we do that and how to tell us when we have it wrong.
1. Where our facts come from
Claims about harvesting, cleaning and certification are sourced from Icelandic law and from the licensed assessors who inspect and seal each article of down. Where a figure comes from our own farms or wash house, we say so.
2. Review before publication
Every article is read by someone other than its author before publication. Anything describing certification, animal welfare or material performance is additionally checked against the current regulations rather than against our own earlier articles.
3. Corrections
When we get something wrong we correct the article itself rather than quietly deleting it, and note what changed. Substantive corrections carry the date they were made.
4. Independence
Our journal is not sponsored. We write about our own products, and we say plainly when we are doing so. No third party pays for coverage or reviews our copy before it is published.
5. Telling us about an error
If you believe something here is inaccurate, write to [email protected] with the article and the claim in question. We answer within a working day.
